Hi all

I wonder what happened to a German Marine pilot who for example already had the Seefliegerabzeichen(pilots badge for a Sea-flyer) and went over to a land based unit and also received the Landfliegerabzeichen(pilots badge for Marine land pilots).....could he wear both medals..??

for any assistance thanks in advance
Gunnar

Hi Gunnar,

I think so. There are two photo's I know where it seems that pilots wear both. However, I have the impression that they usually only wore the Abzeichen of the group they served with. As far as I can say I didn't find anything on uniform regulations that forbids it.
Will check however in my docs.

1914 marine rules do not forbid the use of more than one Abzeichen. Don't know however if something changed during the war. But don't expect it did.
