All,

I first learned of the Hansa Brandenburg CC seaplane fighter from a Fine Scale Modeler article many years ago. Since then, I've seen in called the AGO CC and the Phönix CC. I've found info on the Fiddler's Green site that Phönix made the CC (under license from H-B?) for the Austro-Hungarian Navy.

Here's a link to the info from Fiddler's Green: http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/aircraft/WWI/...c/info/info.htm

But, in Jane's Fighting Aircraft of World War I, the same plane is shown, but it's called the Ago CC. ???

So, can anyone tell me the relationship between Hansa Brandenburg, Phönix, and Ago in relation to the CC seaplane fighter?

Thanks, and warm regards,

Hello:

The Hansa-Brandenburg CC was designed by Ernst Heinkel of H-B and named for the firm's owner, Camillo Castiglione. About 35 were used by the German Navy.

The type was also produced for the Austro-Hungarian Navy, where it was known as the KDW, by Phonix. 135 of the basic type and derivatives were produced.

Info from: GERMAN COMBAT PLANES, Wagner and Nowarra page 162 - 163
