Hi,

Has anyone an idea on the two following losses concerning personnel and unit ?
In the night of 9 at 10 november British planes bomb the harbours of Oostende and Zeebrugge. A British fighter machine, later described as a Short - Doppeldecker - Einsitzer, new type is captured with almost no damage after experiencing engenetrouble it had to land on the sea. Pilot was taken POW, plane was brought to harbour by A12 torpedoboat.
On 10 november in the morning, Lt.z.S. Schuler of Seeflugstation Seebrugge attacks two Shorts between Nieuwpoort and Dunkirk. He shoots one down, the other one returns home. More is not known it seems.

Thanks and VBR from Regulus

Hi Regulus

Possible Trevor or Graeme or someone else has the complete answer about these losses/incidents(if they not are the same.?),... :-/

But "one" of the losses was FLt GGG Hodge POW from Dunkirk Seaplane squadron who was flying a Short 184 Nr 8016..

As Soderbaum has said, the only Short lost on 9/10 November 1916 was 8016 flown by Flt Lt Hodge.

Not sure what happened there. One moment I was typing, next a blank screen. I have no note of combats by naval units in this area on either day and I am tempted to think that the reports relate to the same incident.
