Aerodrome members,

After Oswald Boelcke's death a book was written by his a member of his family about his life and career. I have a second edition copy of this book and was wondering if there is a translation available.

Thanks for any help

Tim

Hi Tim:

Are you referring to the book written with the help of his father Prof. Max Boelcke titled Hauptmann Boelckes Feldberichte (1916)? This book was translated into English in 1917 and titled An Aviator's Field Book. It's difficult to come across a 1917 English edition, but The Battery Press publisher reprinted the English translation in 1991. The 1991 reprint is more plentiful.

There are only a couple of other Boelcke books that I'm familiar with, but they aren't written by a relative of Oswald's.

Hope this helps.
Amy
