WWI Poetry
This is by Hellmuth von Zastrow:
THE ALBATROS
The Albatros on the field awaiting,
A splendid start is contemplating.
*The Albatros.
The Albatros, a thirsty machine,
Quaffs water, oil, and gasoline.
*The Albatros.
The Albatros dreams that it will sooon
Soar through the sky and chase the moon.
*The Albatros.
The Albatros has met its doom--
The Albatros fall down go boom.
*The Albatros.

HOORAY FOR CAPTAIN LEWIS!
(sung to the tune of "Hooray for Captain Spaulding!")
Hooray for Captain Lewis,
Historical Researcher!
Jon Guttman's besmircher!
Hooray, hooray, hooray!
He set off in defiance,
FAA non-compliance,
And risked nine lives for science,
hey hey!
He's the one-eyed kitty
who drank in every meter--
"And Beaujolais by the liter!"
Hooray, hooray, hooray!
