Hi Dario

I havent laid much resources yet to find out specfic information about Friedensburg or the units which he served within. But as he served nearly the entire War as pilot he "most" exists on several photos...and probably he did fly at least 50 different a/c during these years..

The fact that he become "famous" already at an early stage of the War also make it possible that the circumstances around the victory also exist on paintings...

On 17 Apr 15 he together with Ob.Mtr Werner Walter (O) did attack an enemy U boot in beta 130, and they were able to "sank" it through a direct hit by a bomb...!
The success led to an "Annerkennung" (special recognition in military) on 1 May 15. It also led to the award of EK I for Friedensburg on 5 May 15 while Walter received the EK II the same day. Later in 1917 both received the Ehrenpreise but Walter had killed meanwhile...They did not score any further victories...

I havent checked up the a/c they flew, but shortly earlier they had been flying Nr 53.
