Ltn. Jacobs flew two triplanes Dr.I types 450/17 and 470/17. when Jacobs had his "god of the north wind" applied to his Fokker D.VII 450/17 was undergoing repair. It was repainted with all white crosses. 470/17 always bore the four right angles framed in opposition denoting the cross on the black surfaces.
