When someone gives you some information, i.e. two production runs on the Vickers Vampire Mk.I, he should include the quantity, serial numbers, dates of the orders and delivery. If not, I would ask for the source.
J.M.(Jack) Bruce is a source of 1000% accuracy. There are some sources quoting information that don't know the rear-end from a hole in the ground. I would suggest you listen to some of these Formites for a while, you will then know the valid sources of information and their bonafides.
