If memory serves correctly, the Sopwith Triplane, but not the Camel, could adjust the incidence on the tailplane. The elevator was not adjustable except it moved with the tailplane. Sort of like the F-8 Crusader, which could change the incidence on its wing to improve low speed characteristics.
