What I have is that the Savoia-Verduzio-Ansaldo (SVA) excelled in the bomber-recon aircraft and that was manifested in the late war two seater design of the SVA 9 & 10. Testing began in April - May 1918. They were nearly identical to the SVA 5 except in over-all height. They were actually closer to the earlier type 4 in dimesensions. The type 9 was the trainer version with dual controls. The SVA 10 was a photo-reconnaissance aircraft with the observer behind the pilot. Typically they were armed with rear cockpit Lewis gun on a flexible half ring mount and some examples had radio transceivers. Evidently more of the type 9 were built. Both seemed to have the 200hp SPA 6a and some type 10 had the Isotta - Fraschini. The type 5 used the 270hp Isotta - Fraschini V6 . When the type 10 prototype crashed a modified type 5 was used in its place, (SVA 12736.) This machine is or was in the Vittoriale degli Italiani museum.
