RAGIII:
If you will go back and read my Post 222 on page 23 you will find were I have referenced "TFT", THE FOKKER TRIPLANE, by Alex Imrie as my source of information for that particular statement. I have no doubt whatsoever about Alex Imrie or Paul S.Leaman. They both put in a great amout of research to put their books together. What I am trying to get across to all of you that none of us are infallible, we are not gods? I know from my own personal experience in co-writing"Schlachtflieger!" with Rick Duiven. I am quite sure, that one or more of you will write to us or e-mail and challenge us about the book. There is a great deal of new information contained in this book, Rick and I have discussed this, and we will deal with it, at the time.
When "THE FOKKER TRIPLANE" was reviewed in WINDSOCK, I wrote to Ray Rimmel and challenged quite a few captions in "THE FOKKER TRIPLANE". One of which I recall was he got the serial number for Ltn.Lothar Frhr.von Richthofen's crashed Fokker DR.I from the celluloid covered spar acceptance box on the top surface of the upper wing. I am not to sure that, that is possible?? As I said, we all make mistakes, some times caused by assumptions not supported by facts.
Anyhow, go back and read post 222 on page 23 and you will see that everything that is stated is supported by Alex Imrie in "THE FOKKER TRIPLANE."
Blue skies,
Dan-San
