TG,

http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap3.html

"US Copyright Section 302 ..... Copyright in a work created on or after January 1, 1978, subsists from its creation and, except as provided by the following subsections, endures for a term consisting of the life of the author and 70 years after the author's death........ Anonymous Works, Pseudonymous Works, and Works Made for Hire.-In the case of an anonymous work, a pseudonymous work, or a work made for hire, the copyright endures for a term of 95 years from the year of its first publication, or a term of 120 years from the year of its creation, whichever expires first. "

US copyright has been amended twice recently, it used to be about the same as UK and Australian copyright law. There was the Sonny Bono act of a few years ago which was cynically called "The Mickey Mouse Act" and there was the recent DMCA which upped US copyright protection as well. Each time Mickey Mouse has come close to falling out of copyright Congress has increased the years US copyright protects work.

>And if one has permission of the original
>author...whats the problem.

No problem, I think it is brilliant that Peter has done this. I dont think you read my posts properly.
