Aviation in Serbia

Aviation in Serbia begin very early. Some data is known from ancient manuscripts.

Manuscript of the Serbian middle age writer Danilo Zatočnik [Danilo Zatchnik- Danilo Captive] from 13. Century about the events and fair in Serbia state:

“And some other, jumping down from horse, were jumping on the exercise yard, risking its life, while the other were landed from church or some high building, on the silk wings.”

In the 1841 blacksmith apprentice Manojlo, with wings on his hands and some kind of parachute on his back, were jump from the “Dzumurukana” [Turkish term for custom duty]. This flight was not successful but he was lucky that high snow in November compensate his fall so he has survived and arrested by Turk’s.

“And Manojlo, by Turks immediately arrested was.”
