Day 100
Sunday, September 4
[Today I began another multiple-leg flight with with Al Hurlbut in his 1940 Funk, from Bartlesville Okalahoma to Kent, Ohio.
The day before yesterday, David Waterman and I landed at Waynoka, Oklahoma, a little airfield with gas pumps, but no attendant. On fumes, we reluctantly took off again, heading for the next airfield. Today, in
Missouri, Al Hurlbut and I landed at Stockton Municipal Airport with no one around and a sign on the locked up gas pumps that read, "Airfield oporator is at church." Again, we took off on fumes as well, heading for Springfield, Missouri. This felt like a dejavu.]
