I see from the markings you've chosen to duplicate the insignia of Dr.I 213/17, flown by that famous ace Werpaulner Bäumervoss of Jagdstaffel 2,610!!

Aw, don't mind me - I'm just a markings geek. It really is a magnificent worok of art. Great to see it flying - congrats again on all the terrific workmanship.

Yes, I feel your pain. I am a markings geek also. It is my understanding it was a deliberate decision made a long time ago to not make the aircraft a replica of any known Dr 1, I think so as to not belittle any real German pilot in an "airshow" context with the DR 1 playing a fictional "bad guy"...for the crowd. I am not much into that, but it is sort of an "old school" tradition and if you are trying to capture the flavor of old air shows.... If the opportunity to repaint or recover the aircraft comes up I will be voting for a more authentic markings. The museum does have a Hipple DVII that is in accurate markings but an issue has come up on the tail feather color's of Hipple's aircraft. Hardly anyone has seen this aircraft as it has never been engined but that is in the works and is otherwise complete.
