This release of the Eduard kit with the resin figures of the Richthofen brothers came as a complete surprise to me. All the more so since I had done similar figures for The Model Cellar a while back.
Here are pics of the two figures I had painted for the SCAHMS show in March (before Eduard announced theirs!). Yes, they are 1/48 scale. When released they will also include optional heads wearing the hats in addition to the bare heads shown here. Also notice that I have correctly depicted the different relative heights of the brothers, a detail which seems to have been missed by Eduard. Sorry, no dog though. From the photo on Eduard's site, the dog looks way too big anyway.
Paul says the individual figures will sell for $12.50 and the pair will go for $22. So, if you have to have figures for your Red Baron or
Lothar von Richthofen models, you will soon be able to get them from The Model Cellar and save your $75! And of course, you can choose to display them with your old Dragon kits as well....
