Also, recall the "Men who Made Brooks Field" cover (
WWI Aviation books cover art)? The artist was known only as MAC. Well, he's Wallace McDougall, and he was stationed at Brooks Field. Going through another stack, I rediscovered this little pamphlet, and lo and behold ... a very similar scene, but a new expression.
