Thanks to all for the continued posting in this thread. You've got me going through books I haven't looked at in too long.

I found the Russian book I couldn't find the other day, in a stack I'd looked through three times already. Didn't think I was that old yet ...

Also, recall the "Men who Made Brooks Field" cover (WWI Aviation books cover art)? The artist was known only as MAC. Well, he's Wallace McDougall, and he was stationed at Brooks Field. Going through another stack, I rediscovered this little pamphlet, and lo and behold ... a very similar scene, but a new expression.
