If you do get a computer with a DVD player you can also consider what I've done. My computer is set to play PAL videos. One can only change the region 4 times, but that's alright. I purchased an external DVD drive which I use for our NTSC DVDs. Plugs right into a USB port.
If it's any consolation, you may find some further use for your investment, even if you don't normally order German films. For instance, I recently purchased "1984" (based on the Orwell novel) for about $25 on PAL DVD because it's out of print on NTSC. I saw NTSC copies going for as high as $175. |
