As far as I know the Fokker factory did no have the capability of spray painting. All the Fokker Dr.I's were hand painted with a brush. The bottom of the axle wing was painted blue and the top surface from what I can see in my photos are more solid but I see in some that might have streaking. Yes, there is always the oil stains there too.

There has been two photos posted here before that shows the wings getting painted. I think that Dave Watts had posted it thread a while back.
