This is how I decided to make the bungee set up. I found some aluminum nails that work well I think. Hope my wife won't miss them the next time she bakes potato's

I'll use JB Weld to glue the nails in and to the sheet aluminum bracket. Of course the nails will be reinforced from the inside as well.
