These bearing housings are double sided and Assymetrical , but threaded at both ends for the lock rings.......They are fitted "handedly" in the machine , such that the bearing on ONE side posatively locates the cross shaft assembly in the horizontal loading direction , while at the other end , the bearing is free to some extent , to make allowances for any relative movement of the airframe in this direction.....Both the ball bearings are double row and self alligning..Ransom & Marsdon......JM
