it's good. it's not just the pictures--but the captions are good. more than that he starts the book with a really clear, easy to follow summary of what happened during the war. he doesn't spend all of his time on German aces--but gives a very balanced and thorough presentation of the entire German Air Service.
that's one of my little pet peeves about WWI aviation-- that hot-shot fighter pilots and aces pretty much get all of the attention.
