That's true MvR did not have or display any personal Symbols.

MvR's planes would first have the factory camouflage when it arrived to the aerodrome. Now here is were it get all mixed up. some of them would have the unit markings of Jasta 11 some others had some personal markings that included the red paint and then again some had a mix of both, unit markings and personal markings (the red color).

Each plane may have had different markings on it depending on what month it was. There are photos taken at different times that will show different markings this included the National cross symbol as it had gone through several changes. For a list of these changes I would suggest your read Dan-Dan Abbott's article on "German National Markings" in the article section of this forum.

We have talked about this so many times before that I would suggest doing a search in the forum for all the older threads.
