I always had a separate birthday party. My parents were very good about that. With my second son due on December 19th, I'm going to make sure that he also gets his own special birthday celebration.

My first son, John, was born on November 19th and he'll be four this year. His birthday celebrations usually conflict with Penn State football games -- something my family takes very seriously. Still, we manage to have good parties for him too.
