Hi There,
I'm in need of help from some of our German friends, or at least someone who is a better German speaker than I am.
One of the more interesting pilots of JG I in 1918 was Ltn. Heinz
Graf von Gluszewski-Kwilecki, generally known as von Gluszewski.
I have my own ideas, but I would like to know precisely how his last name should be properly pronounced.
He lived until 1980, and I wish I could have corresponded with this distinguished nobleman. Here he is with his splendid Fokker D.VII in October 1918:
Here is a poor copy of a portrait taken at the same time:
Here is, apparently, his earlier OAW-built Fokker at Jasta 4. Note how the marking on the personal
Wappen on the fuselage is reversed, compared to the other photo. Yes, that's Carlos Meyer Baldo's famous dog emblem on the D.VII in the background.
Any help on pronunciation would be very appreciated!!
