The 147th Aero Squadron was part of the American Expeditionary Force under Brig. Gen. Benjamin Foulois, begining in May of 1918. They were part of the 1st Pursuit Group (now 1st Operations Group: 1-OG.) The 94th and 95th Aero Squadrons were assigned in March, the 27th and 147th were assigned in June, and the 185th night squadron in October. Initially based out of Toul France, the 147th first saw action flying out of Touquin, returning to Saints in July, then went back to the front at Rembercourt in September, and finally flew from Colombey-les-Belles in December, near the end of the war.

I'm doing a book from an umpublished first-person-account by a member of the 147th.

Greetings Douglas Westfall,

Wilkommen to the Aerodrome.

Perhaps you would get better exposure on this topic and your request if you move this question to either the People forum or another more appropriate one.
Just a suggestion.

Good Luck, FOKKERJ

P.S. There are several people here with great resources on the Aero Squadrons.

I found these Links through the related Theads at the bottom of this page.
