Question linked to Rickenbacker....family mystery

Hello all,

I'm trying to unravel something of a mystery about my mother's family. According to an obituary on my great-great-grandmother (Lillian Latham Robinson), she married my g-g-grandfather Paul Cline Latham in a "stunt plane" over Cleveland in 1918.

The obit goes on to say that the couple worked with Eddie Rickenbacker to promote his races---they flew planes to attract crowds to his events. I'm thinking this was in Ohio just after Rickenbacker returned from the War. By 1920 my g-g-grandparents were in Hialeah, Florida (just outside Miami) where he was the chief of police for Hialeah and operated a flying school.

Unfortunately I can't find any info independently on anything that was written in the obituary! I found this forum and since Eddie Rickenbacker is fairly famous I thought I'd inquire here....

Anyone out there know anything about this mystery? I've begun reading Rickenbacker's account of the War online and ordered his autobiography in hopes of gleaning something, but thought maybe someone here might be able to direct me to better references on barnstorming?

Thanks for any help!
