First, thank you for your service. Second, ease up on the coffee. There are probably a fair number of us on this thread who also served and it's no big deal if we have differing opinions - don't throw us all into the '69 VW bus on the way to Woodstock. If I were to describe the situation in Sea Bee terminology, I'd say that the Palen years were like being stationed in Port Hueneme with John Wayne as the BNCO (go see "The Fighting Sea Bees" for reference). The current years are like being stationed in Gulf Port with some pencil neck, bean counting geek as your BNCO. Now, Gulf Port is still a CBC, but it's not Ventura County if you know what I'm saying (my apologies to anyone from Mississippi out there).
