Kees, I think this dispute came up before - some time ago. FYI FWIW...
IIRC technically, in the true geographical sense, you're probably right - however, in common speaking I've never heard of the term "Middle America" used other than when Americans use it to refer to...well...middle America. A place socioeconomically, not geographically, described.
As for Mexico, I'm quite sure that most North Americans consider it to be part of NA. (I.E. NAFTA - North American Free Trade Agreement). Anything south of Mexico on the isthmus we'd call Central America. Columbia and beyond of course would be South America.
Now that this challenge appears solved, I though I'd clear that up.
