Not the film I know---but the book----BLUE MAX

I don't have a copy these days---it's years since I read it--but like most I consider the film (helped enormously by the scintillating score) as a masterpiece...

Anyway there is a part in the BOOK where Stachel is being interviewed by the press and one say's to him--'what are you thinking as you dive onto an unsuspecting enemy'

Bruno replies ' I hope this frigging aeroplane (airplane) holds together'

Still amuses me that.
