My apologies Bob- If you were to read my posts here over the last few months, and see the immense amount of footwork that I have done outside of this forum in the better interest of the Rhinebeck, you may understand my deep frustration when I hit the proverbial wall the day that I made the last, rather annoyed posting here.
In my dealings with folks there in the town of Rhinebeck, I have seen only seriously wealthy folks, using their influence to bully others, and outright abuse of the media reporting- All done by folks on BOTH sides of the argument. That is the part that shocks me the most. Outright abuses and all in a "who you know" way. Hypocrites and bullies are who I was interacting with sadly.

All of the folks posting here are operating by ethical means, it seems, and I have a deep respect for their combined efforst. In the background, I was working with a select few locals, and in the months of my involvement with them and our combined interests to pressure the Board at the Rhinebeck to create a true inventory, file accurate crash reports (which was successful, mind you), and to take better care of the collection.

I have been asking here, as well as through phone calls never returned to the Rhinebeck for someone to outline the things that volunteers with skills could contribute. Look back in the postings, and you will see one vague mention of winterizing the wheeled vehicles in reply to my many requests. Visiting and asking in person did no good either.

I have a deep respect for what this thread is attempting to accomplish, but the "society machine" that we are all up against here is far too connected in every level of the society, including the darker, criminal fringes. I have been approached by folks with ill intent over this topic, and have seen some folks that are on "our side of the fence" act in ways that are reprehensible as well. These were the folks that I was personally working with in the area in my efforts to bring some resolution to the Rhinebeck Troubles. The straw that broke the proverbial camel's back was Larryboomboom, and his ill rantings and threats. I grew up in a country that was plagued with frequent bloody bombings.

Perhaps I am guilty of wordy replies, and should have just said that I am not in the trenches anymore, but am still in the background paying mind to the process towards progress.

I mean no disrespect, and was merely voicing a deep frustration with the level of corruption on both sides of the fence.

Time will tell. Flying season is over, so only cold and potential roof collapses from snow weight will threaten the collection 'till Spring.

Again- read my posts here and you will see that I very much care for the Rhinebeck and it's future.
