Hi Hans:
When Ltn. Fritz Anders was with Jasta 4, he flew an Pfalz D.IIIa in aluminum finish with the black ribbon wrapped diagonally around the fuselage, the Jasta 4 marking with the fin and tailplane painted in black and white stripes, another Pfalz D.IIIa, maybe the same machine the black and white stripes included the fin and rudder. When he was transferred to Jasta 73 ans the Jastaführer ha=e brought his markings with him, including the black ribbon of Jasta 4.
The Alb.D.V aircraft of Jasta 73 were originally were marked with the black and white stripes on the rear fuselage, fin/rudder, lower fin and tailplane in black and white stripes in February- March 1918. Around May 1918, Alb.D.Va 6553/17 was so marked, but now included the black ribbon wound around the fuselage, like Ltn. Anders Pfalz D.IIIa in Jasta 4. I assumed this was Ltn. Fritz Anders Alb.D.Va. It may not of have been.
Later on, I saw photos of other Alb.D.Va, with simular markings, Then I had to conclude, this could be someone elses Alb.D.Va. In the mean time I saw the photo in the DataFile of Fok.D.VII(Alb) 611/18 marked with the white band, edged in black, with black and white stripes on the fuselage with black and white stripes on the nose. As I did on the Alb.D.Va 6553/17, I concluded, this too was Ltn. Fritz Anders, Fok.D.VII. It may still be, or maybe not.
I don't Greg's data source, possibly the

Fritz Jacobsen's Album that identifies the pilot as Uffz. Harbers. Greg could very well be right. Maybe Greg could jump in here and give us the straight skinny.
