This Anzani has a Zenith carburetor.

Here are a few photos of the carburetor bowl and float assembly. No special reason for adding them right now, except that we had them out and available.

Not shown is that there's a vent hole in the upper side of the carburetor bowl. It's roughly about .06 inches or about 1.5 mm diameter. No screen on it at all.

The float is symmetric. The action should be obvious: as the float descends, the needle rises, opening up the bottom port.

The needle sticks out of the top of the bowl and is accessible. I imagine that wriggling to make sure that it's not sticking it is part of the preflight inspection.
