G'day mezod & a very warm Welcome to the very best WW1 Aero Forum.
Many great people here including many well respected Historians & Authors!
I endorse all the recommendations made in previous posts. All of Peter Hart's 3 Books, "Bloody April", "Somme Success" & "Aces Falling" are excellent overviews of those periods of the War.
Cecil Lewis's "Sagittarius Rising" is an absolute Classic & anything by Peter Kilduff is excellent.
You might also like to have a look at the Osprey series of "Aces" books.
These feature lots of photos, Colour Profiles & stories of the pilots who flew the Aircraft (e.g. Camel Aces of WW1, Albatross Aces of WW1 etc). These are available from Amazon but also specialist Aviation Booksellars. Osprey also issue an Aviation Elite Unit series covering such units as 56 Sqd. RFC/RAF, the Flying Circus, Jasta Bolcke & some new ones due shortly by Greg Van Wyndgarden who is a Forum Member.
One suggestion is to use the "Search" facility if you have any specific interests. That will take you through Archive Posts on the subject.
Good Luck & Enjoy your visits.
