I read this evening that D. H. Lawrence, the famous author, married Frieda von Richthofen, the sister of Manfred and Lothar. The author stated that after the wedding, Lawrence and his bride were forced by public hostility to seek refuge in the English countryside, where they hid in barns like animals.

Does anyone know any more details about this?
