Greetings all,
The July update is online !
The fuselage of the Voisin (static) is taking shape again after the long metal treatment *( we are using most of the original screws and nails) for all the brackets and outer skin in order to preserve the original camouflage and markings.

On the D VII (repro) the update is on the basic cockpit equipments (instruments, ammo boxes, seat, etc...)
Check the NEWS here: http://memorial.flight.free.fr/indexuk.html
Hope it helps
Alain

Hi Alain,
The projects look fantastic!
Can you tell me the serial number for the BMW motor being used for the D.VIIF project?
I may be able to help with history details.
Best,
Dave W.

Awesome updates on the Voisin.
What's happening with the Strutter? Plus I have a theory about 1.B2 and 1.A2 external differences. Email me direct if interested.

Hello BozO,
Now I am curious:
From the images of your Fokker D.VII seat I noticed that there is a difference in the left end the right side support frame. I speak about the vertical support tube that joins the top and bottom clambs.
On the left side that tube is set into the corners of the rest of the frame while on the right side this tube is inserted in between the frame tubes. What is the reason for this?

Hello Achim,
For the left side, as you know, the vertical tube is offset to give clearance for the horizontal one that holds the throttle.
For the right one, we think that, even if it is more time consuming, they did it that way to make the frame more rigid. That's what we noticed when we welded it.

Hi BozO,
I see your reason. Is that image above of an Albatros built aircraft?

Hi Alain,
Good news!
Your motor BMW Nr.1421 was installed into;
Fokker D.VII built by Fokker
werk number 3178
aircraft number Fokker D.VIIF 5077/18.
The aircraft was accepted on the 5th of September, 1918 and was test flown by Fokker test pilot Schutzenmeister.
Now you can hunt for photos of it for the "restoration".
Very best wishes,
Dave W.
