cspellman Two-seater Pilot Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 100	Its been years since I saw the original King Kong but what type of planes were those attacking Kong when he was up on top of the Empire State Building? Rob_Owens Forum Ace Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: Martindale, TX USA Posts: 758	I believe they were a mix of Curtiss Hawks (don't remember if they were Army or Navy) and Vought Corsairs (VE-7, not F4U).

Ralph_Riedesel Guest Posts: n/a	I think they were the Vought 02U-2. If I remember correctly they had radial engines and the top wings were swept.
