Does anyone know what type/color of rib tape
the Pfalz D.VIII had? Specificly, the D.VIII flown
by Ltn. Paul Bäumer of Jasta Boelcke. Also, was every rib stitched and taped or did they alternate
ribs. Some pictures seem to show that they
alternated ribs.

Thanks for any help

PaulC:
Pfalf Flugzeugwerke covered the Late production Pfalz D.IIIa, Pfalz VIII and Pfalz D.XII with five color printed fabric. The rib tapes were cut strips of matching five color fabric, dark pattern and the light pattern on the bottom. The rudder was covered with dark pattern or plain fabric and over painted with white paint.
Blue skies,
