This afternoon I was re-reading David Nicolle's articles on the WWI Ottoman AF in Air Enthusiast #s 74-76 (Mar/Apr tp July/Aug 1998 issues) in which he mentions the delivery of seven Fokker D.VIIs to the Ottoman air arm in October 1918 (and used operationally before the war's end).
Has anyone ever seen a photo of any of these aircraft?

"After the war [WWI] the Turkish Air Force used seven D.VII's, probably taken over from retreating Germans. They were registered "FD 9 to FD 15.' Of their further use, nothing is known."

They would not have come from German forces in Palestine. The most modern fighter aircraft German
units had in the Ottoman Empire were either the Albatros D.III ; Albatros D.Va ; or after Aug.1918 the Pfalz D.IIIa.

Perhaps Bülent Yilmazer will see this post and respond as he might have *pertanant information on this subject. I believe *he has worked with David Nicolle.
