Some of my LVG profiles appear in this quarter's Cross & Cockade Journal. *I thought I would share with you a number of them, some of which were not in the journal. *Thanks goes to C &C staff for their assistance in documenting these planes. *All of them can be found on these 2 pages:

http://wingstrut.com/LVG_CV.htm

http://wingstrut.com/LVG_CVpart2.htm

note: pages may load slow...because I like to show them at least 900x400 on web for detail.

wingstrutdotcom:
* The profiles a very good Tom. *Intel reports have described the upper camouflage colors as light mossy green and pale lilac. with the painted camouflage scheme, all the rudders were painted pale lilac.
* The LVG C.V profile in Part 2 with the chevron and a No.9 on the side of the fuselage is Schlasta 27b.

Thanks Dan,

Is that a positive ID on 27b #9 from some written source? *
My initial impression was that it was Schlasta aircraft.

If then from 27b would it have been odd that it carried the #9? *I thought Schlasta compliment was only 6 aircraft?

wingstrutdotcom:
Tom, in the plans for 1918, the Liftstreitkräfte had wished to increase the number of Schlactstaffeln to 60, grouped into 15 Schlactgeschwadern odf 4 each with a total of 360 Cl. machines. Due to problems of command staff, personnel, vehicles and other related equipment, it was determined this could not be done. It was decided to increase the number of Schlasta to 40, They had 38, and equip each Schlasta with 9 machines. This only entailed 3 aircrews and 3 ground crews, a total of 15 additional personnel for each Schlasta, A total of 570 personnel for the existing 38 Schlasta. The 40 Schlasta would be grouped into 10 Schactgeschwadern of 4 Schlasta each. What was accomplished was the increase in aircraft and crews to 9 each, no new Schlasta or Schlactgeschwadern were formed by war's end.
Blue skies,
Dan-San
