* Right here at "The Aerodrome" under the "aces" category is a article dealing with flight training in the RFC. Three sources I am familiar with that deal with training within the French air service are a book named "A Year For France, War Letters of Houston Woodward." (which is nearly impossible to find) and an article in the January,1918 issue of "National Geographic", "The Life Story of an American Airman in France." James Hall's "Falcons of France" also details it.
*For the American Air Service,"An American Pursuit Pilot in France" has two chapters, "Flight Training at Tours" and "Combat Training at Issoudun and Cazaux."
*"A German Airman Remembers" by Hans Schroder starts with a chapter dubbed,"Tests and Training".
Most of the personal remembrances worth their salt will have some information regarding flight training.
* In a general history ,"The First Air War, 1914-1918" by Lee Kennett has a chapter,"The Men , Selection and Training."
*These are just a few suggestions I am familiar with. There are doubtlessly many more.Plenty of information is available with some purusing of the used book or antique shops.
