Old Avro 504 Profile, Anyone?

Hi Gentlemen; does anyone has the old British Profile Publications issue on the Avro 504? As they usuallly include an appendix on aircraft serial numbers, I want to check if this issue has something on exported Avros after WWI

Best regards
Miguel

You will find a lot of Avro 504 sites on the search Engine.
To get you started, try www.adfserials.com for Aussie Avro's. Select RAAF Series 1There's a list of 65 or so.
Then, ww1stuff.freeservers.com/argie.htm
and www.avro504.org
I do not have the Profile, but I have some old IPMS mags with Portugese items.

Miguel,
I don't think the profile publications did the Avro 504. I bought them all as they came out and it isn't in my Profiles. I'm sure that if they had done the 504 I would have it.
Regards
Alex

Old profiles

The same happens to me, I have them all, but i remember seeing one on the 504 at one IPMS National, anyway, I will keep on looking, those Avro serial numbers are driving me crazy, and now I have learned that a good proportion of their company old records were destroyed in a bad fire back in the sixties!

Best regards
Miguel

There were a lot of "Fires"., and several "Floods".
I know of at least three major firms that had losses like this.
It is usually a euphemism for "Can't be bothered looking..."

It might be worth asking them for a month and year, so you can check newspaper reports of the time to see what was reported destroyed;
and ask who their insurance agents were. They might then "find " their Company Archivist or historian.

That Portugese Avro I referred to turned out to be just a modelling subject, with no Brit serial given.
