DR.1 425/17 Serial Number Plate

Would anyone have details of what the DR.1 425/17 Serial Number Plate. A relation of mine has one. The plate has "MILITAAR FLUGZEUG FOKKER" on the first line and Dr. 1 425/17 on the second line. The letters 425/17 are stamped onto the plate. The other letters are raised with a black background. It is 99mm long and 22mm high and made from copper .

Any help would be grateful.

Militaar?

Graemeb:
You will not find Militaar on any authentic German aircraft name plate.
The correct spelling is Militär and would be joined with flugzeug,i.e.
Militärflugzeug. The plate is a fake and a poor fake.
Blue skies,

I agree with Dan-San, there are a number of these fakes around for 425/17, the Australian War Memorial has one in their collection that is attributed to this aircraft.

But if it was not a fake,it would have been off of Von Richthofen's plane. His aircraft number is 425/17.

I have to agree with Dan, if he says its a fake then its a fake.
But, as for if it truly came off 425/17, then it was Richthofen's; with key emphisis on 'WAS." The allied soldiers must have fought each other to get pieces off her; since she was stripped of everything that she as worth.
