Anyone got any photos of the inside of the DH2 cockpit ? I would like to see instrument placement and type of controls. I know it had a wicker seat.
Thanks,
Cher'o,

A good place to start might be the SR1 Hornet biplane (Vintage Ultralights). You and Robert Baslee should be able to work a light weight pod. The pilots postion and engine could be adjusted for weight and balance. Sorry I don't have any cocpit details for the DH2. Maybe and interesting project

That does look like you might could use it as a base.
Thanks for the help. Now find me a photo of a DH2 cockpit.

Leftenant Rudder, Highly recommend Windsock Datafile 48, Airco DH2, which I believe should be available at wingswithwires.com. It has photos/drawings of cockpit, bare nacelle, and beautiful Ian Stair drawings of the complete kite. Hope this helps. Check Six! Rob

In some ways, deHavilland returned to the DH2 configuration three decades later with the Vampire: pod-like fuselage (made of wood!), engine behind the pilot, and the tail mounted on booms.

Thanks for information. I just got a Windsock Datafile that shows most of what I need. I still don't have a photo of the control stick.

I found what I believe is a bad photo showing the control stick. It is a curved affair the is mounted at the elevator horn tube in front of the pilots knees. It goes straight up and then curves back toward pilot, then makes a 90% turn upward to the single handed grip with a Coupe' button on top.
