I wonder about the R.F.C. 10 Sqdn role on WWI? Was it an observation or a trainning squadron? ???
I guess that main type of aircraft was the Be2c...
One of its air base in France was Shoques near Bhetune, any confirmation about it? :
Thanks in adavance

Best Regards

Rui

No 10 Squadron RFC was formed on 1 January 1915 and flew to France on 25 July. Its role was, typically, varied and encompassed artillery observation, tactical reconnaissance and light bombing. Initially equipped with the BE2e it received Armstrong Whitworth FK8s in September 1917.

The squadron was based at Aire (from 30 July 1915), Chocques (7 August 1915), Abeele (17 November 1917), Droglandt (12 April 1918), Abeele (21 September 1918), Menin (21 October 1918) and Staceghem (5 November 1918).
