*A pet interest of mine has been seaplane operations aboard HMS Ben-my-Chree.

* I welcome opinions regarding the colours and markings of the Sopwith Schneider and Sopwith Baby aircraft operating from this ship.

* Two I find particularily interesting are :
Schneider 1445
Baby *8188 *

Hi MacBain,

* Another interesting Schneider is 1577 from "Ark Royal". It appears to have a dark suface, much darker than you would expect from clear doped linen.
* Yet photos revile that the Union Flag, and the Sopwith logo appears clearly on the dark rudder.

*Is the dark finish factory or is it a tranlucent overpaint. *In what colour ? * navy grey ?
roundel blue ? *a mix of the two ?

* * * * * * * * MacBain
