zep 1915

In April 1915 a German zep was shot down above Ypres. Does anyone know the circumstances, the trip of the zep and his number?

Thanks

Zeppelin LZ 35

Hi!

It goes about LZ 35 which was based first at Köln later at Gontrode/Belgium

It Made attacks on Paris 20/03/1915 and Poperinghe 13/04/915
Raid on british Isles failed and when returning got into a storm and got under ground fire above Ypres.
Gasleaks into gasbags were at the origin of losses of liftforce and it stranded into this storm near Aeltre-Two Bridges...it had to be scrapped.(14/04/1915)

Commander was Hauptman Masius...

The crew was unhurt.

A British pilot, (name and day ,I should have to search up) got a reward for bombing the zeppelin shed at Gontrode a little time later, British were thinking he destroyed this Zeppelin into her shed! Which wasn't the case!

LZ 37 was destroyed by Warneford above Gontrode...memorial with I accept still both Oblt. van (von) der Haeghen and Oblt. Ackerman buried under it is to find at Ghent-Westerbegraafplaats!(None seems to be able to confirm this! None seems to know were they are buried today! But???)
One of the crew was buried (braughtover) to Bonn and 4 of the killed crew were braughtover later (about 1956-57 by the VDK) to Vladslo (West-Flanders!) German Friedhoff...

VBR
