"lo all,
I'm doing some research on the Escadrille Lafayette and I was wondering if anyone knows the French Bombardment Group they were assigned to protect when they were posted to Luxeuil-les-Baines. I only have the name, which is Captain Happe. Any information would be appreciated.

Captain Happe was in charge of the groupe de bombardement de Luxeuil the group is GB 4 (made of MF 29 the old Happe squdron that he still lead time to time and C61 latter joined by the MF123 to be true Happe was in charge of the whole groupe but he was also at some time in charge of his old squdron )

Happe is quite an hero when a reward was offerd for his head (25 000 marks) he send the followinf message on the Habsheim airport "You put a reward on my head, thank you. As it is so during my fly open fire on the plane with red undercariage and a cross on the wings. Its mine it is no use to fire at other plane" he as called by his pilot Mephisto or the vulture of the sierra and it is said that the german had nicknamed him "der rote Teufel"

Gregoire,
I know thet the official designation of the squadron was N.124, the N standing for Nieuport, I also know the C designation was for Caudron. What does MF stand for?
