Siemens Schuckert 1916 Factory Photo
A great shot of early SSWD1s showing to good effect the 3 tone camoflage scheme that may have been on just the early models (not sure). I've been digging around for about a year and a half for SSWD1 images and info, and this is a new one (to me anyway).
I found this (a guy in Germany sent me the link) at an unofficial Siemens history web site. Wish I read German!
Pretty cool!

That Siemen's link is pretty interesting. Just by following the hot buttons you can learn a little about the company, even if you don't speak German.
I didn't know they were big in medical equipment, especially dental. Also, they were given an award by the Lear Corp. for their contributions to flight, namely the autopilot, or electric rudder. Interesting.

More SSWD1 Photos
These were provided by "fltmech" here on the Forum. They were sent to him by Siemens as nice, large scans, and show the prototype SSWD1. These and a couple more were all they had in the archives apparently. (I belive that's the R1 there in the background).
fltmech has kindly put these larger files available for download from the link below. Go to the link at the bottom that says "Photos From the Siemens Archive" and that will take you to the zipped files on his Kit Plane page.
The detail in them is wonderful! He also has other SSWD1 images from the web there as well. (Thanks again fltmech!)

Siemens Archive
Johnan,
I don't know what else (if anything) they might have on the SSWD1. But if you're going to be there, by all means, please do keep an eye out. It's remotely possibly something new has turned up I guess.
Many Thanks!

Hi Mike,
Will most certainly see if I can find anything more on the SSWD 1. They also have lot's of material on the Fernlenkboote, the flying torpedo, the SSW R planes etc.
Should make it to Munich eary April.
Best from Johan

Ssw D.i
JR.R.:
Johan, when you visit the Seimens Archiv, if possible get a photocopy of the wings for these D.I machines. I am most interested in the camouflage pattern. I have always thought the SSW D.Is were camouflaged in two colors, pea green and rust brown. These are in three colors, my take is, dark green, pea green and rust brown. This 1916, no mauve or purple yet! I never cease to learn something new!
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Hi,
Yeah, it's nice to see another photo verifying that the Siemens were camouflaged in three colors, as I've said before. If you look on page 7 of Cross & Cockade Great Britain Journal, Volume 11 No. 1, 1980, you can see another photo of a similar Siemens (mislabeled as a DIII) on which you can make out three distinct colors, though the placement is different than on the photo in this thread. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing it.

Dan-San,
I was hoping that you would see this picture and come to a similar conclusion. I ordered a three-view from you last September of the SSWD1 in the two color. It was very nice. ( I hope I remembered to thank you, if I didn't shame on me ). I'm anxious to see what you come up with for the three color.
Greg,
I thought it was interesting how different they all were painted in the picture in my original post.
