Hi all,

My hope is to have my "motor" running this summer installed in the fuselage with the machine gun drive installed, fire blanks with the guns and give demonstrations at the GWAA fly-in this September. The motor should be operational, I just have to nudge someone into lending me the drive clutches for replication and were off to the shooting range! I have two prospective candidates that I'm working on for the drives, I just hope to close the deal in time for Dayton. I'd love to hear the fire rate of guns go up and then drop sharply, recover and increase again as the motor speed climbs. I have the blank adapters for the Spandaus, so I'm all set there as well.

For you that are wondering, it is legal to shoot the guns with blanks, and it is legal to mount the guns on the airframe, but it is illegal to fly an aircraft with a functional machine gun. As there will be no fabric on the airframe, I should be exempt.

You can shoot the guns with live ammo as well legally, but not at a public government institution such as the Air Force Museum.

Best,
Dave W.
